Christos Dantis was born on September 26, 1966, and from a very young age began his successful career as a singer, composer, and songwriter. His real name is Christos Vlachakis, but he chose the stage name “Dantis” when he started his musical journey.
He made his debut providing backing vocals on Michalis Rakintzis’s album “Moro Mou Faltso” (“My Off-Key Baby”) in 1987.
Three years later, in 1990, Christos Dantis released his first solo album, “Daktylika Apotipomata” (Fingerprints), which became a huge success and immediately made him stand out in the Greek music scene.
That same year, he collaborated with Polina on the album “Push Ups”, whose title track became a massive hit.
In the following years, Dantis released several highly successful albums, including “Aman” (1992), “Ala” (1993), and “Ta Yousoufakia” (1997), among others.
Another major success came with the album “To Palio Mou Palto” (My Old Coat) in 1999, followed by the double CD “To Domatio” (The Room) in 2001, which achieved platinum status.
The mastering of this album took place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, where The Beatles recorded their iconic works.
In the years that followed, Dantis continued releasing successful albums, collaborating with several major Greek songwriters, including Giorgos Theofanous.
Christos Dantis co-wrote the Eurovision-winning song “My Number One” (2005) together with Natalia Germanou, performed by Helena Paparizou, which brought Greece its first-ever victory in the international song contest.
Two years later, in 2007, Dantis competed to represent Greece at Eurovision with his song “No Madonna”. Although it was well received, the final selection went to Sarbel with his entry that year.
Throughout his career, Christos Dantis has collaborated with many important artists and creators, including:
Giorgos Theofanous (composer)
